• Julie Bodson, MT-BC

Julie is a board-certified music therapist. She has a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of Michigan and a bachelor of music in music therapy from Michigan State University. Although her initial work was mostly in oncology and hospice, she’s been working for 20 years in community based and residential settings with older adults, people living with dementia and their care partners, professional caregivers, and those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

As she uses music to guide people in reaching their goals, she puts her focus on kind communication, respecting their passions and accomplishments, supporting their identities, and protecting their dignity— no matter the challenges they’re facing.

Julie is trained in Positive Approach to Care techniques and uses them in her work.
